WHITETAIL TAXIDERMY

It was a cool September morning (47 degrees) in Wisconsin, and I was in my sculpture studio working on another clay whitetail sculpture for my upcoming whitetail catalog. Sculpturing a deer manikin is a time consuming process, so I had gotten up at 5:30 a.m. to try to finish my most recent sculpture. I was only a half-hour into my sculpturing when I heard the front office telephone ring. I thought to myself that it was kind of strange for someone to be calling this early. I usually let the answering machine pick up after hours, but I was a little curious about who would be calling so early. I headed for the front office and picked up the telephone.

“Good morning, Rinehart Taxidermy School and Supply. This is Dan, can I help you?”

On the other end of the telephone I heard, “Mr. Rinehart, I am a road worker for the city of Albion and we have a deer that’s been killed by a car. Would you be interested in it or have a use for the deer?”
