PART 2, FINAL: Carving Custom Mammal Mannikins

NOW THAT ALL OUR COMPONENTS ARE BASICALLY ready, the time has come to return to the preliminary sculpture and compose the elements that will portray proper anatomy, balance, and the illusion of movement. There are two ways to approach this step. One is to build the entire form without rodding it on the mounting spike. This works best for larger animals, such as bears, that usually require fit-tings to make sure there are no size issues. Obviously, it’s easy to make required adjustments without having to contend with embedded rods.
