Part 2: Tree and Plant Preservation

AN INCREASING AMOUNT OF INTEREST IS being generated for the use of preserved habitat for applications in large dioramas, small bases, and with glass encased displays. This article is intended to serve as a follow-up of a comprehensive overview of plant preservation, published in 2003 in BREAKTHROUGH, Issue #70. That previous article will form a good basis for some of the information that follows. Since that initial article, I have addressed many concerns, questions, successes, and expanded uses of preserved habitat from people in different parts of the country. I have asked some of them to forward photos and “how to” commentary about projects or uses of preserved plant material that were significant for them....
