WITH ITS
GOLDEN-ORBED MENACING GLARE, innate majesty and nocturnal mystique, a great
horned owl is an excellent showpiece and a much sought after exhibit by
nature centers and museums everywhere.
In large part,
the appeal of this stunning bird lies in its distinctiveness. That quality,
however, presents a challenge as unique as the bird itself: how to produce a
natural looking mount of a bird that is different from any other you have
encountered. That challenge can be met by referring to photographs and to
the bird in your hand which, in this instance, is worth more than two in the
