AS DISCUSSED LAST ISSUE, THE planning for the base and composition of the mount should begin long before the mounting procedure begins. The mount and its base composition must all work together. Cally had made the decision to mount the bird hanging from an old fence post. The rod attachments and their positions from the mount were illustrated last issue. Also, the feet and leg positions were altered to work with the post that had been selected for this habitat. In this article, Cally will show you how he prepared the base for this beautiful hanging dead mount.
