THE FOLLOWING ARTICLE IS NOT INTENDED TO be a how-to description of mounting and designing a competition mount. Instead it’s meant to illustrate pitfalls and idea changes that plague a piece from conception to completion. The thought process for composition is an ever-changing concept as better ideas are discovered and poor ones discarded. This fish display was a process of many hurtles and an equal number of setbacks. Some may like the finished design, others may consider it a great boat anchor.
