THE 2005 WORLD SHOWS
 

HAVING PRODUCED SIX WORLD TAXIDERMY and Fish Carving Championships®, I am still awed at how the event evolves at each show. You would think it is going to be the same old thing at each event, but it is not. I have always been humbled at the quality of work that arrives, but having viewed and been a part of every World Show since 1983, the
2005 competition and show may very well be the greatest ever.

There were more show-stopping entries at this competition than any previous. There are always entries that exhibit a fresh new approach to taxidermy and how it is presented, but at this year's competition I was amazed that everywhere I walked I kept saying to myself, "Can you believe this?"

"It was bigger and better than I ever imagined!" That was the comment from Jenny Pickard of South Africa. Her husband Dennis said, "It is an unbelievable experience to see the quality of taxidermy and carvings exhibited in this ballroom—not just a few, but so many!" These comments were similar to many more that I kept hearing throughout the show..
