RE-CREATIONS
OVER THE CENTURIES, VARIous
artists and artisans were not only known and sought after for their overall
expertise, but they had special qualities or abilities which they
incorporated into their work, which made them successful during their
lifetimes. For example, a number of painters were known for their mastery of
light, portraits,
or landscapes. Faberge was famous for his jeweled eggs, Tiffany for his
exquisite glass, and Remington for his bronze sculptures of western figures.
These special abilities became their signatures, or as we say these days,
their bread and
butter.
Several months ago I was
chatting with some fish carvers over the internet, when the discussion
turned to habitats and what materials other than wood could be used with a
