WE OCCASIONALLY GET REquests
for custom mounts centered around one or more animals for which a simple
standard base will not work. I will now go through the basic steps on how to
build an artificial tree using plywood, PVC pipe, hardware cloth, urethane
foam, and mache. This method is relatively inexpensive and fairly simple.
Actual hands-on time to build this particular tree is no more than 6 to 8
hours. The example used for this article involves two bobcats being harassed
by a coyote.
Make sure of any size
restrictions your customer may have regarding the size and space the mount
will incorporate. Before any of my employees start a mount like this, we
discuss the attitude of the animals that will be in the scene. We decided
that the higher bobcat should look a little more curious about what was
