WITH MODERN
HUNTING BECOMING A worldwide endeavor, more and more taxidermists across the
U.S. are regularly being asked to create wonderful mounts from exotic,
foreign trophies. While many taxidermists themselves will take hunting trips
to far away countries, with or without clients, the lure of a special hunt
or difficult-to-obtain trophy has become a more “modern” way of thinking.
Certainly, we as taxidermists enjoy the benefit of these African, Asian,
European, and South Pacific trophies, but as businessmen and women, the
question arises, “How can I help my client with this hunting and importing
opportunity?”
Actually, it
is easy, and with a few time saving tips, you can ensure that the valuable
trophies taken abroad can arrive quickly and safely into your studios. The
old taxidermy axiom, “The better the trophy is handled in the field, the
better the finished product,” always holds true and can be expanded to
state, “The better I handle my client and his needs, the better the client
is pleased.” With this in mind, let’s look at several ways you can assist
your out-of-country hunting clientele, and benefit your finished mounting
