Something similar about all the underwater photos shown is in the basic positions of the dorsal, anal, pelvic, and pectoral fins. The fins, being elastic in nature, will bend and flex as needed to propel a fish or hold it in position when there is a current. In most cases, however, the fin edge closest to the body is usually touching the body. Positioning fins on a mounted fish that are dropped down or pulled out from the body is the most common mistake that taxidermists make.
