FISH TAXIDERMY
 

ONE OF THE EVOLUTIONARY TECHNIQUES in taxidermy is the use of artificial parts. Fish taxidermists are finding the benefits of using cast heads and fins a tremendous boost for quality and realism. Thanks to the work of a few intuitive individuals, we have a very good supply of mannikins, heads, and fins at our fingertips. Having said that, what do we do when the quality isn’t what we expect, or the species we want is not available from our favorite supplier? Our only choice is to make the artificial parts ourselves. This brings me to the meat of this article.
