One of my favourite TV programs of all times began airing when I was in the ninth grade. Kung Fu, starring David Carradine as Kwai Chang Cain, was the new rave back in 1972. In the pilot episode, young Cain was raised and trained by Shaolin priests at a monastery. Perhaps the most famous line from the series was a comment made by Master Kan. “When you can take the pebble from my hand, it will be time for you to leave.” Cain (aka Grasshopper) finally became fast enough to snatch that dang rock! Shortly thereafter, Grasshopper was headed out the door.
