This strange looking device is a paint shaker. You may have seen it in hardware stores several years ago, but didn’t know what you were looking at. If so, you weren’t the only one as they didn’t sell and consequently, they are no longer being made. This is unfortunate because they were inexpensive (about $6.00), could handle up to quart-size containers, and most importantly, they worked!
