KOKANEE SALMON ARE A
LANDLOCKED-DWARF form of anadromous sockeye salmon. Mostly silver in summer,
they turn red in the fall spawn period, and produce hooked jaws and canine
teeth. This paint schedule is for a spawning male and uses Polytranspar
paints.
Prior to painting, cover
the glass eyes with eye protector (optional). Prime all reproduced parts
with translucent primer FP-195 and lightly wash the body of the fish (not
fins) with lacquer thinner. The teeth may be reproduced with white silicone.
It’s better to use some of the real canines and make the small teeth with
silicone. This is preferably done after painting, but before final glossing.....
