THERE ARE MANY REALLY GOOD FISH BLANKS on the market, but not every species is available. Every now and then a shop gets an unusual request for a fish that isn't easy to find. This usually comes up for me when I'm doing a job for a museum or visitors’ center, and some nongame fish is needed for a display and there isn't exactly the right one on the market.

As taxidermists we've been altering mannequins to suit for years; why not a fish blank?
