THE RUMOR YOU MAY HAVE been hearing is now fact there will be a 2008 World Taxidermy Championship in Salzburg, Austria, February 18-24, 2008. Discussions have been underway since the fall of 2006 with Reed Exhibitions for a possible production of the WTC in place of the European Championships, which had been taking place during off years of the World Show. During a meeting after the 2007 show in Reno, Nevada, a final agreement was reached with Reed Exhibitions of Europe, through a licensing agreement with Breakthrough Magazine, Inc., who is the owner and registered agent of the World Taxidermy Championships in the United States and the European Union.
