PAINTING SCHEDULE

The male brook trout shown in this paint schedule was a twenty-three-inch, seven-pound specimen. It was caught through the ice in mid-February, one-hundred-twenty miles north of Toronto, Ontario. When I first saw this specimen in my studio, I felt that the body shape and head features of this fish would make it a good competition piece.

This particular mount received second place in the Division of Excellence at the 2001 NTA Convention in Columbia, Missouri. It also place first place Best of Class Masters at IGT in June 2001, and first place Best of Class Masters and Best of Show at United Taxidermists of New York August 2001.

I hope you find this paint schedule to be helpful for this species. There are still so many things you can experiment with, but this particular schedule will give you a clean looking brookie. The paints I will be using for this particular schedule are...
