Mounting a Greater Prairie Chicken

GREATER PRAIRIE CHICKENS are striking upland gamebirds that have somewhat large, bare sacks at the sides of their throats. These air sacks have a bright orange hue that is framed by a brown barring of feathers that continues from head to toe. Two bright fleshy eyebrows peak out above the eyes, along with a crest of long and narrow feathers that can stand up at the back of the head and the top of the throat. While this is a beautiful bird, some taxidermists have been stumped on how to go about re-creating...
