For successful plant preservation, the METHOD must match the SPECIES.

Wildlife artists, exhibit builders, hunters, and people who just love nature, are becoming increasingly appreciative of lifelike habitats. Whether it is displaying a deer, turkey, bear, or elk, having an animal coming through a forest setting with trees that look, feel, and smell real offers a dimension of realism that is unequaled by anything artificial.

It has become my ambition in the last few years to concentrate my efforts in the area of tree and plant preservation. I've come to realize that the development of well preserved habitat requires the understanding of some basic principles and expectations.

Whenever preserving plant material is attempted, the underlying goal is to replace the water found in the plant cells with a nontoxic substance that will not readily evaporate, and to include a good dye that will..
